this week's trek

I will not be here tomorrow so I wanted to go ahead and send a post for the week. :)

this week we learned about clownfish and what oceans they live in, the horseshoe crab (which isn't really a crab!) and what oceans they live in, elephant seals, and lots of interesting facts!

morning questions:

here is a pic of us using StrataLogica to locate where clownfish are located

and horseshoe crabs

we celebrated Lexie's 6th birthday!!!

Monday was my son's first day of school *wiping a tear*

this is his teacher, Ms. Brooke. she is the P3 teacher this summer. and her room is right next door. aka heaven for a mom going through her son's first day of big boy school :)

here are some of our journal entries so far this week:

the students file their journal pages weekly into the portfolios we created earlier in the summer

a friend of mine, who happens to also be a teacher and a parent at our school, recently told me about Zac Browser. Even though it is designed for students with Autism and Autism Spectrum Disorders, the students in my room have really enjoyed it. The setup is similar to an iPhone or iPad (see pic below) and I like how any game or activity or show they choose to play or watch is safe.
