Today, our research focused on the layers or zones of the ocean. we will focus on the three zones, its characteristics, and its creatures this week.
We watched a video on YouTube about the 3 layers: sunlit, twilight, and dark.
we discussed each zone, the students named the chart, and then they cut out and glued pictures of sea creatures in the correct zone.
we used the 2 page spread in Oceans and Seas by Margaret Hynes that explained the three zones very well.
we started our reading logs today for our D.E.A.R. (drop everything and read) time. don't forget to be working on your reading logs at home for the summer reading program at the library! :)
